Respect - how we regard others, and ultimately, ourselves. Civility, Courtesy, Decency, Acceptance, Personal Dignity

Citizenship - civic virtues that define us as participating community members. Community Service, Law Abidance, Environmental Protection, Participation in Democratic Process

Tolerance - the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. Open-mindedness, Non-judgmental Attitude

Caring - seen as the "heart of ethics" and tied to our responsibility toward others. Kindness, Compassion, Consideration, Patience, Friendship, Sharing, Charity

Attitude - having a good outlook toward life, looking for the best in every situation. Approach, Outlook, Mind-set

Honesty - truthfulness, sincerity, not lying, cheating, or stealing. The quality of being upright in principle and action. Honor, Integrity.

Perseverance - to persist in spite of difficulties, steadfastness. Persistence, Tenacity

Trustworthy - considered the most complex of the six core areas due to a variety of behavioral qualities found under this heading. Honesty, Integrity, Reliability, Loyalty

Responsibility - what we do or don't do matters because of our ability to make choices. Accountability, Diligence, Self-discipline, Self-control, Work Ethic

Integrity - to follow a code of virtues. High Principles, Oneness, Soundness, Incorruptibility

Loyalty - faithful to family, friends, and other commitments. Allegiance, Faithfulness

Fairness - having or exhibiting a disposition that is free of favoritism or bias, impartial. Equality, Justice, Evenhandedness, Reasonableness
